Abstract
Schedule
Matt Trout will be talking at UKUUG in Manchester on 8th-9th November. The Catalyst web framework is rapidly increasing in popularity in the perl world but many people reach a moderately sized codebase without ever really thinking through their architecture and planning for scalability.
In this talk Matt will cover how to take an existing application that works, refactor it to be more easily testable and then move on to taking advantage of a well-tested infrastructure to profile, optimise and clean up the codebase to ensure that you can still develop just as fast in a year's time as you could when you first started out.
